Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Project Lead to work as part of an integrated industry-government team working to design, develop, demonstrate, and sustain embedded software systems.
This position will require the candidate to be on-site at the US Army Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) in Warren, MI several days per week in a hybrid work environment.
Job Description:
Lead a project team by providing guidance, leadership and actively working with a team of diversified engineers and technicians.
Plan and manage a project, following project management & system engineering practices, consistent with defined organizational standards
Interface with Program Managers, System Architects, Software Engineers and engineers from other organizations to develop and sustain software for Army Ground Vehicle Systems
Support efforts in design, development, execution and sustainment of vehicle embedded software systems pertaining to system integration for Army Ground Systems
Develop program plans, documentation, scope, resource needs, schedules, budgets, and milestones necessary for the overall planning and execution of the assigned project.
Manage risk at a project level.
Develop, review, evaluate and make recommendations concerning acquisition documents, priorities, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, milestones and other program matters for the software items.
Act as primary point of contact for project customers, industry partners, and project management team.
Work with software engineers, developers, architects, and testers to ensure successful software implementation.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Minimum 9 years of software development experience with at least 3 years of experience leading software development team
Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to apply program management, project management, risk management, and value management techniques and principles to determine and optimize cost, schedule, and performance parameters from development to fielding for software products
Strong understanding of software development life cycle processes
Experience working in Agile development environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Clearance Requirement:
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start
