Support integration of Counter sUAS solutions (software and hardware) with the AFRL System of Systems architecture.
Systems being integrated include RF detection and mitigation systems (Ninja and WindTalker), hardware abstraction software (DefenseOS), directional jammers (DroneBuster), Radars (Echodyne and RADA), and EO/IR camera systems.
Basic knowledge of small UAS systems desired.
Perform software and hardware integration using Linux and Windows architectures.
Understand C-sUAS data models for tracking and mitigation.
Understanding of network communication and information assurance evaluation.
Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities and Duties: Able to design, develop, integrate, and test software solutions autonomously Be able to develop new software or readily modify existing software Must be able to take immediate direction from chief architect and chief engineer Must be able to develop in a controlled software configuration management environment No direct supervisory responsibility but will coordinate work with other software and senior software engineers Contacts are primarily with other software development and testing individuals/group Coordinate with operational users and work on-site in Stockbridge/Rome, NY with operational users.
Will coordinate regularly with program manager, chief engineer and chief architect Required Skills Experience with one or more of the following development tools/environments is desired: Android SDK, Microsoft Visual Studio, Spatial Lite Domain experience in geospatial systems (i.e., moving map display), full motion video, geopositioning devices, advanced GPS technology, tactical networking, UAS, and/or mission planning solutions desired Experience with development tools such as JIRA, GitHUB, Confluence, and Slack Experience in Mobile Device computing (Android, Windows) Experience in robotics, small-unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), unmanned communication protocols (i.e., PixHawk, MavLink, etc.
