RWE Clean Energy, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: Operations & MaintenanceRemuneration: Exempt The Solar Farm Technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance for all scopes of an operating power plant, including civil, mechanical, and electrical inspection and repair. The Solar Farm Technician monitors the solar power plant's availability and ensures mechanical and electrical maintenance is being performed when necessary to maintain established safety and operating targets. Responsible for executing daily scheduling philosophy, utilizing a prioritized list of work provided by planning with a focus on maximizing generation and ensuring proactive work is prioritized and completed. Responsibilities:Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical equipmentEnsure that all assigned maintenance tasks are performed safely and by site operating procedures established for Storage PV sitesComplete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA's, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation that is required to conduct maintenance and repairs in a safe mannerProactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and proceduresPerform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirementsPerform balance of plant and switchyard work as requiredPerform maintenance on trackers, inverters, and other PV electrical equipment as assigned by the Site Supervisor or LeadMonitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where appropriatePerform current and voltage readings as necessaryDocument all work and generate reports as necessaryIdentify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environmentAt times, may assist with BOP activitiesUse available tools to monitor energy output and respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actionsEnsure site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections are performed by site protocolsInterface with any 3rd party contractors working at our facilitiesAvailable to respond to nontraditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues, including emergent abnormal operating conditions, execution of maintenance, tracking work orders, resolution of O&M issues All other duties as assigned Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate degree in engineering or related field from an accredited US school other than correspondence or internet preferredNABCEP Certification or Electrical License preferredUnrestricted driver's license in good standingMinimum two years of work experience as a maintenance electrician (commercial or industrial), or 4 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician performing electrical work on operating equipment; or two years experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, or distributionPreference will be given to the candidate with some renewable energy experience, preferably solarMust be skilled in at least one of the following: power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance; substation maintenanceMust be competent in power plant safety protocolsMust be competent in electrical safetyMust be competent in understanding the NECAbility to work in extreme weather conditionsAbility to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work dayKnowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power toolsKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and proceduresAbility to work within tight deadlines, and evolving schedulesAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned, including supporting other sitesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
