We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing Echocardiography Ultrasound techniques and Echocardiography examinations for subsequent evaluation and interpretation by a physicianPOPULATION SERVED: Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Cardiac/cardiovascular, conditions and diseases including but not limited to : Cardiac valve(s) stenosis/insufficiency, etc.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs Echo's on patients in all settings including Intensive Care areasResponsible for care of equipment, ensures proper reporting of equipment malfunction or downtimePerforms quality Echocardiography diagnostic studies according to physician ordersMaintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patientsCommunicates findings to the physician interpreting the studiesNotifies physician upon completion of studyParticipates in "On Call" coverage as neededAll other duties as assigned.REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONSBCLS CertificationRegistered Cardiac Sonographer in Echocardiography under ARDMS or CCI must be obtained within twelve-months of employment start date.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalentFormal trainin in Echocardiography ultrasound.PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESKnowledge of cardiovascular systemAble to recognize abnormalities, correlate information obtained and convey preliminary findings to physicianProficient sonographic techniques in order to produce accurate and appropriate physiologic informationFlexibility with work situationsBasic clerical skillsLas Palmas Medical Centeris a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso.
