Job Summary
At CulinArt Group- a member of Compass Group USA, we offer an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Sous Chef to join our team at a dynamic boarding school in Newtown, PA.
This role allows you to showcase your culinary expertise in a 7-day-a-week operation, working closely with a dedicated team to provide excellent dining experiences.
You will have the chance to closely uphold quality standards while implementing creative culinary programs successfully.This position offers free, onsite parking, free meals, excellent benefits, opportunities for growth, and moreEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in coordinating and participating in the magnificent preparation and cooking of various food items for a student dining hall.Plan and develop menus that meet the highest culinary standards.Efficiently implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team.Manage cost controls and closely supervise expenditures.Maintain compliance with Health Department regulations and uphold high standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation.Empower, train, develop, and direct back-of-house associates to achieve operational goals.Perform other duties as assigned to meet the dynamic needs of the operation.Qualifications:At least 5 years of related culinary experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead culinary role.Diverse experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food service operations.Prior culinary experience in a school environment is preferred, but not required.Prior culinary experience in catering is required.
In-depth knowledge of food and industry trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.Ability to set up and distribute production sheets ensuring detailed execution.Strong supervisory, leadership, training, management, and mentoring skills to champion an inclusive team environment.ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is helpful.Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel.An Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts is preferred.Apply to CulinArt todayCulinArt is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
