South Carolina Connections Academy (SCCA) is a tuition-free, K-12 online public school.
The school was launched in 2008-09 under contract to the South Carolina Connections Academy Charter School.
SCCA is South Carolina's very first virtual charter school, authorized by the Erskine Charter School District.
The school serves students in grades K-12 from anywhere in South Carolina.
Position Summary:
The High School Programs Support Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of educational programs.
This individual will be responsible for providing administrative support to high school administration, helping to resolve issues, manage program logistics, and ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a deep commitment to supporting educational success in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* General Office Management: Serve as a point of contact for general high school inquiries.
Answer and return phone calls and respond to emails with professionalism and courtesy.
* Class Scheduling: Assist in the preparation of class schedules for returning and newly enrolled students.
Collaborate with school counselors and administrators to assign students to appropriate classes based on their academic needs.'
Section students into classes for Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters.
* Communication Support: Draft and distribute high school communications, including announcements and event reminders.
Assist with scheduling events on calendars.
* Event and Conference Coordination: Support the planning and execution of school events, such as student engagement, graduation ceremonies, and extracurricular activities.
* Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to school administrators, including generating data reports, reviewing enrollment flag and section audit reports, and serving as the high school PowerSchool and Clever liaison to the school's operations team and district.
* Supplies and Inventory: Place orders and ensure that all necessary resources are available to staff and students.
* Special Projects: Assist administration with a wide variety of daily responsibilities and special projects; and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Must have a high school diploma
* Experience in a support or administrative role within an educational setting.
* Strong technical skills, including proficiency with using learning management systems (LMS), experience in PowerSchool system administration, and familiarity with virtual communication tools such as Google applications (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Documents, etc.
)
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment.
* Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions.
* Attend in-person meetings, as required.
* Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication.
