The SOX Manager - North America is an integral part of our Finance team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ site.
The position of NA SOX Manager offers a unique opportunity to gain a well-rounded Sarbanes-Oxley Act experience in a publicly traded company. The successful candidate will be part of a global team and be responsible for all aspects necessary to achieve and maintain effective controls over financial reporting in several companies in the North American region.
Key ResponsibilitiesProviding specialized knowledge and expertise in establishing methods and procedures to review the underlying business transactions and the process activities.Identifies preventive controls, detective controls, or a combination of both, as adequately addresses financial reporting risks.Examines the effectiveness of controls, including coordination and communication with external advisors, and prepares the company for external audits.Maintain document narratives and flow charts of the business processes.Provides training to employees in various departments including management, finance and logistics pertaining to the regulations and mandatory processes in accordance with SOX and government requirements.Coordinates with external auditors in order to gain efficiencies in the overall program.Designs and implements project planning and management to achieve and maintain effective internal controls of finance and operations teams and develops and drives implementation of robust and effective internal controls.Working with Information System resources to maintain, develop and modify system processes and controls.Responsible for direct remediation actions for control deficiencies.Keeps abreast of compliance requirements, including COSO framework, and updates internal documentation requirements as needed and provides his expertise and support to finance teams regarding SOX compliance requirements.SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Products.Demonstrated leadership skills sufficient to motivate and influence others.Ability to develop senior level relationships.Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.Maintain the corporate conscience at the highest professional and ethical standards.Ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.A motivated self-starter, work well in groups and demonstrate excellent customer service.High degree of time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at once.Planning; ability to think ahead and plan, project activities and strategy over short-terms and extended time periods.Ability to effectively present information to key managers and leadership team.Skilled at making clear and persuasive presentations.
