SSI is looking for a Space Vehicle Electrical Engineer in Chantilly, VA. This job spans a range of Satellite Vehicle Engineering activities supporting the Government customer with multiple satellite systems, both on-orbit and in development. This position will primarily support the design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test activities for one of the major satellite programs. The job requires in-depth knowledge of satellite and payload component electrical design and analysis.
Job Responsibilities: · Assist in overseeing the design, manufacturing, and test activities for the satellite bus and payload.
· Assist in overseeing the assembly, integration, and test of the satellite and payload.
· Assist the GPOC in managing and evaluating contractor PDRs, CDRs, and MRRs.
· Review/monitor enterprise, system, subsystem, and assembly-level test and verification/validation planning and execution.
· Attend enterprise system, subsystem, and segment-level design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, and requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the GPOC.
· Review test plans/procedures and test results and test reports for completeness and accuracy, including compliance with approved plans, and provide feedback to the GPOC.
· Support the customer in the oversight of bus and payload subsystem hardware development, integration, and test activities at the Prime/subcontractor and associated vendor facilities.
· Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the enterprise, system, and subsystem level and then work with the Government enterprise Prime/Subcontractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches.
· Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts.
\n Required Qualifications:EE Degree or equivalent and 15 years or more experience.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
