Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools 334 Philadelphia St, Indiana, PA 15701 New Story Schools provides special education for students ages 5-22 in grades K-12 across Pennsylvania and Ohio. We offer small class sizes, individualized learning plans, and use evidence-based strategies through our team of educators, behavior analysts, and therapists to help students overcome challenges and achieve their goals. What we offer: Consistent Pay : Same hourly rate for all work, with no differentiation between billable and non-billable hours, and no reductions for student cancellations Schedule: 35 hour schedule, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (No nights, No weekends) Paid Time Off: 12 days of PTO plus school holidays, and spring, winter and summer break pay* Tuition Assistance and Reimbursemen t: We support our employees' growth by offering opportunities to continue their education and achieve success. Health & Wellness: Dental Insurance, Health Insurance, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Bereavement Leave, Short Term Disability (STD) Retirement Plan : 401(k) with company matching Job Responsibilities: Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Provide support in the classroom by helping students with their academic tasks, including literacy and math activities Assist students with self-help skills, including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene, to promote independence Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers to help adjust teaching strategies, as necessary Qualifications: At least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent A genuine passion for working with children, along with patience and compassion Preferred/Nice to have: Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology or related field Experience working with children with special needs or autism through volunteer work, employment, or other relevant experiences New Story and its affiliated brands are proud to be equal opportunity employers, celebrating diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
