Job Summary Are you ready to take statewide your knowledge of what's necessary to be compliant with requirements in special education but also what works well to improve results for children and youth with disabilities? Then join our special education program monitoring team. We are a dynamic group of educators, specialists and attorneys at the forefront of helping Minnesota's school districts and charter schools remain compliant with laws and regulations while improving results for children and youth with disabilities.
As a program monitor, you'll work through data as a team to differentiate monitoring supports for each district in the state's cohort cycle. Be prepared to:
Have meaningful conversations with district leadership and staff Assess patterns of results, and visit district to review facilities Provide directed technical assistance Special education program monitoring is required by federal regulation as a condition of receiving federal funds and Minnesota has a long tradition of being among the best in the country.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 5 years of professional experience with the school and/or district level involving special education program planning
OR
Bachelor's or master's degree in education or a related field + 4 years of experience with the school and/or district level involving special education program planning
Experience must inlcude:
Demonstrated leadership or administrative capacity at a school district level, that includes the development of improvements in special education program, staff development and/or compliance assurance; Experience with government and education and special education programs. Preferred Qualifications Special education leadership experience at the lead teacher, coordinator, or at the director level; Experience working in a system of continuous improvement, implementation science and results-based decision making; Experience with data collection and analytics; Familiarity with adult-centered training and provision of technical assistance; Juris Doctorate Application Details How to Apply Select "Apply for Job" at the top of this page.
