Special Education Teacher

Part Time Special Education Teacher:Must hold a Bachelor's degree in special educationPreferred: Masters degreeThe Special Education Teacher provides:Case management and in-classroom supportScaffolding and designing modified lessons and materials aligned to grade-level content areasOn- going student assessment and evaluation including identifying goals and progress monitoringCollaborating with the student support team, lead classroom teachers to support studentsAddressing teacher and parent concerns for studentsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Develops and updates Plans for the purpose of meeting the individual needs of exceptional studentsTeaches students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student's goals and objectives in the least restrictive learning environmentConsults and collaborates with parents and classroom teachers for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of servicesKnowledge and skill to provide instruction in the areas of literacy and mathUtilizes multisensory approaches to keep students on task, motivated, and included in a general education settingMeeting with the inclusion team on a weekly basisBuilding a strong relationship and rapport with students, parents, and classroom teachersWillingness to learn, attend trainings, and grow in the critical role of Special Educator in an inclusive Catholic schoolIn accordance with Catholic Social Teaching, deeply holding the belief in the dignity of the human person and the Church's obligation to provide an inclusive educational environment for all studentsOther responsibilities/duties as assigned by the administrationProvide assistance with Guided Studies in developing ISP/IEP/504 for those with a diagnosed disability and help monitor, evaluate, and update all existing plans developed by Holy Family H.S.Salary Range: $33,000-$35,000, based on education and experience.Education/Experience Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree, Master's or higher preferred.
