Job Title: Special Education Teacher Location: Fort Worth, Texas Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment. This position involves working with students with various disabilities and learning challenges, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with other educators and parents to support student success. Key Responsibilities: Instruction and Support: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student. Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instructional activities that accommodate diverse learning styles. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed. Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment. Employ behavioral management strategies to address and resolve issues that may impact student learning. Foster a classroom culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and any concerns. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals and strategies. Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in special education and incorporate new strategies into teaching. Attend professional development workshops and trainings as required. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior. Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school district and state regulations. Qualifications: Education and Certification: Bachelors degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred). Valid Texas Special Education Certification (Teacher of Students with Disabilities or equivalent). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education (preferred but not required). Experience with various disabilities and learning challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances. Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of each student. Personal Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
