Special Education Teacher at New Story Schools IDS Lurgan, PA, 17232 Join New Story Schools In-District Services (IDS) as we partner with local school districts to enhance special education by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, SLPs, and Paraprofessionals for their classrooms. Our mission is to empower educators and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students with diverse needs. Serving students aged 5-22 across multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania, we work alongside families and schools to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters academic and social success. Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success. Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans. Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution. Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff. Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team. Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed. Preferred/Nice to have: Valid PA Teaching Certification in Special Education (sponsorship available).
