Special Education Teacher

Insight Global is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support one of our clients in the Pittsburgh area. Our client is a tuition-free public charter school that focuses on giving every student the chance to find their pathway to success in the classroom and beyond. They work to form meaningful relationships and uplift their students by providing individualized attention through smaller class sizes, lower student-to-teacher ratios (12:1), and supervised after-school activities. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive classroom environment, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure each student's success. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the needs of students. Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate different learning styles. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed. Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP goals. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education. Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field Valid state teaching certification in Special Education Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience working with middle school students, particularly in a special education setting This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position. The hourly pay for this position is between $26.50/hr-$31.25/hr depending upon years of experience and qualifications.
