This role is focused on supporting a middle school ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classroom with a manageable caseload and dedicated classroom support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students with ASD and committed to creating an inclusive and effective learning environment. Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborate with two paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom to ensure comprehensive support for students. Create and maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction as needed to achieve educational goals. Work closely with parents, school staff, and other professionals to coordinate and enhance student support. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational and behavioral strategies. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid Virginia Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Special Education. Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents. Ability to collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals and manage a supportive learning environment.
