Position : Full-time Special Education Teacher (K-1) Location: near Creswell, OR Classroom Setting : Social Communication Classroom (serving students with Autism) Grade Level : Kindergarten - 1st Grade Classroom Size : 11 students Support Staff : 5 paraprofessionals in the classroom Key Responsibilities : Provide individualized instruction and support to students with autism in a small, supportive classroom setting. Develop and implement IEPs that focus on social communication, behavioral skills, and academic growth. Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals to ensure the effective implementation of classroom strategies and supports. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic development. Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual needs. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress and needs. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Masters preferred). Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Strong understanding of social communication and behavioral intervention strategies. Ability to work collaboratively with a team of paraprofessionals and other school staff. Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
