The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. This position requires collaboration with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff to ensure students receive the best educational opportunities in an inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs. Modify and adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate students' disabilities and learning styles. Monitor student progress and adjust IEP goals as necessary. Collaborate with general education teachers and other staff to provide support for students in both inclusive and self-contained settings. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior intervention strategies. Administer assessments to evaluate student progress and determine areas of need. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Attend IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification (EC-12 or appropriate grade levels). Texas Educator Certificate with endorsement in Special Education. Knowledge of IEP processes and ability to develop measurable goals. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and administrators. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities (e.g., autism, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders). Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations for students with disabilities. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Licensure and Certification Requirements: Texas Special Education EC-12 Certificate : Required for all special education teachers in Texas. Texas Teacher Certification : Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) . Passing score on the TExES (Texas Examinations of Educator Standards) for Special Education. Fingerprinting and Background Check : As mandated by the state of Texas. Work Environment: Full-time, school-year position in a public or charter school setting.
