Tew & Taylor is actively searching for a Special (Threshold) Inspector who can help solve critical concrete restoration and other building problems in numerous tall and medium-rise buildings located in Palm Beach County.

The ideal candidate will be "hands-on" and be completely responsible for evaluating numerous local existing mid to high-rise buildings with the main purpose of:

Performing Structural Threshold Inspections.

Conducting and having experience with structural steel reviews, cast-in-place concrete, concrete restoration, reinforcing steel, post-tension slabs, and wood structures.

Preparing field reports for Owner/Architect/corresponding jurisdiction as required, based on on-site observations.

Building Code Review and/or Quality Control Inspections.

Prepare written and electronic reports, and issue Notices of Correction.

Explain and interpret code and/or quality control regulations or requirements.

Recognize, evaluate, and properly resolve unique problems or situations.

Assist the inspection management team with business development.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.

Required Qualifications:

Must Have a valid Florida Special Inspector License.

In lieu of already possessing a Special Inspector License, the chosen Professional Engineer candidate must meet all qualifications for the licensure and start the Special Inspector License Application process within two weeks of hiring.

Must be a Professional Engineer in Florida.

5 Years of construction engineering and structural building inspection experience.

Candidate may work as a direct hire or as an independent contractor.
