FLSA Status: Exempt

School Classification: Certificated

Pay Schedule: Range 12 ($97,133 - $$123,420)

Work Schedule: 190 days/11 months

Location: Onsite and Remote Office

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Special Education Program Specialist or designee, the speech and language pathologist provides specialized instruction and services for students who have speech and language disorders.The speech and language pathologist assesses and participates in individualized education program (IEP) meetings, consults with IEP team members, with school staff at the general education level and participates in the MTSS/SST process.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides consultation to staff and parents regarding typical speech and language development Provides a systematic, multi-tiered pre-referral consultation and/or intervention Completes thorough initial evaluations, additional assessments and eligibility re-evaluations that comply with school, state, and federal guidelines and develop legally compliant assessment reports and IEPs Uses comprehensive assessment results in developing an appropriate IEPs Participates as a member of the IEP team to develop IEP goals, objectives, accommodations, modifications and instructional plans;implements and monitors the IEP Provides direct speech and language services both individually and in small groups and other special education support to students whose needs have been identified in an IEP Assists in coordinating the implementation of goals and objectives with the IEP team to provide integrated services Monitors student progress toward goals by collecting and maintaining data on goals and objectives Conducts quarterly IEP reviews to ensure compliance in all areas Provides in-service trainings for staff and parents as requested Attends monthly meetings with the Special Education department Collaborates with the special education administrative team and make suggestions toward the future development of speech and language services throughout all school programs Participates in meetings at the general education level to assist in developing appropriate interventions and goals for students at various tiers of the MTSS/SST process Services students in-home, if necessary Proctoring duties as needed during the testing season Other Duties: Responds to all school related communication within 24 business hours Documents and refers to the school's management all formal disciplinary actions involving students; supporting management with addressing and resolving complaints from students and parents in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with the provisions of California Penal Code Section 11166 (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act) Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

Education and Experience: Possess appropriate speech and language license by the State Department and specialist credential Minimum of two years or more successful experience preferred in speech and language practice within a public school setting, including practice in assessment and therapy skills appropriate for the needs of a varied student population Other Qualifications: State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed.
Code 44237).
No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance Proof of a clear TB Tine test dated within the last 60 days (Ed.
Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act Hold and maintain a valid California Driver's License; proof of automobile insurance; and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations Knowledge: Computer and technology literacy: Operate office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software.
