As an AT Project team member, the SLP/AT specialist will support the initiative's goals to build district-level capacity for providing skilled assistive technology support to students with disabilities. This SLP/AT specialist role is a 10-month contract position, primarily focused on providing support for referrals originating from school districts, teachers, and SLPs. We are specifically seeking a candidate based in West Tennessee who can effectively serve the needs of this region. The specialist will work closely with educational professionals to assess, recommend, and implement Assistive Technology (AT) solutions, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), that enhance student communication and learning outcomes.All staff assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed by the program director.Tasks :* Serving as a consultant/liaison between AT Project and school districts, classrooms, and/or staff who reach out for assistance* Providing coaching and mentoring to district-level staff and administrators* Conducting professional development activities (live, online, recorded)* Assisting school staff with their completion of AT assessments, documentation, and implementation recommendations* Supporting districts in their completion of the QIAT matrices, development of district action plan, and development of policy and procedures* Showcasing AT lending library inventory to school teams* Traveling to provide coaching to districts receiving intensive support* Collaborating with TNTAN partners, such as TRIAD Behavior, to support team implementation of communication strategies relevant to the area of need* Colleting and documenting internal data for referral management* Researching relevant information and resources to be shared with school districts* Developing instructional content and resources for online sharing through the Tennessee Technical Assistance Network (TN-TAN) websiteRequired Qualifications:* Master's degree in speech language pathology* Certified in assistive technology (or eligible to obtain certification)* Minimum three (3) years full-time experience providing broadscale assistive technology/AAC services within the special education setting* Experience conducting AT/AAC assessments and documenting findings* Strong skills with addressing the AT needs of students with physical, cognitive, communication, and learning disabilities* Experience providing direct training/guidance on the use of assistive technologies* Computer proficiency with MS Suite* Strong organizational and presentation skills* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with the administrative staff, professional and support staff, parents, LEA staff and community* Ability to work independently and as a team while maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others* Treats others with respect; understands the impact of culture/background on the behavior of others, respects differences, and demonstrates inclusive behavior* Delivers work products and services to schools in a way that reflects positively upon TEC and the TDOE.* Holds a valid driver's license for travel* Compliance with employment eligibility, including criminal background check* Possess the skill set, space, and access to consistent internet for remote workJob Type: Full-timePay: From $56,000.00 per yearWork Location: Hybrid remote in Memphis, TN 38112
