JOB SUMMARY
Provides speech language pathology services appropriate to patients' needs, utilizing necessary resources to ensure optimal patient care.
This is a registry/PRN position. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an ASHA accredited speech-language pathology program with Master's degree or verification by ASHA of equivalent training in another country Current speech-language pathology license in State of Illinois CPR certification Basic English language competence for verbal and written communication in English language Effective interpersonal skills JOB DUTIES Demonstrates the WMH Customer Service Values, which are key in providing quality service to patients and customers.
* Demonstrates proficient skill in evaluating, interpreting, planning, educating and implementing age-appropriate and functional speech pathology treatment for patients, including but not limited to diagnostic procedures to assess the underlying structures and functions which support communicative activity and eating/swallowing and to treatments utilizing linguistic, cognitive, motor speech, fluency, dysphagia, and/or augmentative communication interventions.
* Establishes and revises treatment plan based on physician orders, patient/caregiver input, evaluation results and patient progress.
* Ensures treatment outcomes meet program standards and reimbursement criteria and facilitate optimal discharge planning.
* Independently performs all duties required to maintain and complete patient records in a timely manner.
* Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, other team members to coordinate treatment plans.
* Maintains confidentiality of patient records and information.
* Actively pursues professional development and educational opportunities to expand clinical expertise.
* Attends all mandatory and relevant in-services and meetings.
* Assists with orienting students and new team members.
Participates in program development projects.
Serves as a resource person for other staff members, sharing professional knowledge/expertise with others.
Manages patient caseload and daily operations efficiently.
