Job summary
The Speech Pathologist is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.They develop and update appropriate plans of care to enhance quality of communication, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-linguistic abilities.They communicate in a concise, tactful manner with physicians, co-workers, caregivers, family members, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
• Implement an individualized treatment plan using skilled, evidence-based therapy techniques.• Provide verbal and written instructions to patients, caregivers, and family members.• Maintain a current knowledge of speech pathology techniques.• Evaluate patients and demonstrate sound clinical reasoning in treatment diagnoses.• Establish an appropriate, comprehensive plan of treatment with measurable goals and a defined discharge plan.• Maintain accurate and current documentation in the patient's medical record.• Complete billing and billing sheets according to department procedures.• Provide instruction and teaching of therapeutic procedures and routine care.• Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills.• Contribute to the recruitment and retention of talented staff.
Requirements
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university approved by ASHA.• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA and current AZ License to Practice Speech Language Pathology.• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
