Summary of Job Duties:UAMS Schmieding Developmental Center is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work to evaluate the speech and language skills of infants, children, and adolescents from birth to adolescence. The evaluation may be conducted independently, in collaboration with a psychological examiner, or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The primary objective of this evaluation is to establish initial diagnoses and provide ongoing assessments. Additionally, this position will involve providing second opinions regarding diagnoses and conducting clinical observations regarding the presence or absence of a developmental disability.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Master's in Communicative DisordersAR License in Speech-Language PathologyCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence or be eligibleTwo (2) years of pediatric experience in speech-language evaluationsPreferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in Communicative DisordersNote: This position is subject to speech/language certification regulations, state and federal laws, and agency/institution policies.Additional Information: To excel in this dynamic role, the ideal candidate should possess the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of child development principles, language acquisition milestones, and assessment techniques.Understanding of various speech and language disorders and treatments.Excellent clinical assessment skills, including the ability to accurately diagnose speech and language disorders.Proficient in conducting formal speech and language assessments.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document and present findings.Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with children and families.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Disclaimer: This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.Salary Information: Commensurate with education and experience
