We're looking for a Coax Splicer to join our team and help connect America. With direction, performs duties as a Coax Splicer as a part of the construction of telecommunications to ensure scope of work performed is within standards required by our customer.
What you'll do… Climb utility poles and ability to handle/use a 28-foot ladder.Interprets prints in underground and aerial environmentMust be self-motivated and able to work within time constraintsProvides accurate daily timekeepingKeeps track of production and hours on daily reports and completing 'as-built' maps for areas built.Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cableTest, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installationBasic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicleSelf-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary.Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily productionReconcile all issued parts and materials daily to ensure accurate material usage counts.Frequently work independentlyAbility to properly use hand tools, ladders, and associated equipment to assist in the completion of assigned projectsClean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulationsOther splicing related duties as assigned Qualifications Who we are looking for… Must have knowledge of installation of equipment such as nodes, amplifiers, passivesKnowledge of RF, forward and return signalMust be detail oriented and proficient with paperworkAbility to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagramsAbility to distinguish colorsMust have a high school diploma or equivalentPossess a valid driver's licenseAbility to work in emergencies, nights and weekends if needed including but not limited to holidays and extending days.Ability to be on-callInner city traveling required between job sites (company truck)Ability to work in all weather conditionsPreferred Qualifications Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
