The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company.
The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work.
The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
Position Summary/Details:
Visual media-minded student will hone their skills, learn to work with a wide variety of media equipment, work as part of a creative team, and expand professional portfolios.
The student provides in-house videography and photography services.
Additionally, this position will provide feedback on strategy requiring graphic, online and social media needs requiring videography and photography solutions.
Accountabilities: Under supervision of the Creative Content team, student will serve as a Tampa Electric videographer and photographer for recording and editing of marketing and communications media including portraits, events, promotional videos, advertising campaigns, new business and digital media requirements.
Within scope of assigned projects, provides project planning, scheduling, management, and problem solving and completes status reports and updates to the project management system.
Assists in video camera operation for events and small productions, execution of video and photo shoots, post-production photo and video editing and hands-on and technical support during special events. Offers photography and videography solutions to fill the needs of corporate websites and regularly coordinates with the Video/Photography Project Manager to schedule video or photography for the website, social media. This position provides support in the production and delivery of multimedia products using print, web, PowerPoint, Social Media, and digital video forms.
Serves as support to manager of the company's digital image library, where photos and video are stored, providing regular maintenance, content management, integrity of site architecture (code, graphics, content) and proper archiving of files. QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
Co-Op Requirements:
To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university's co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Required Degree: Mass Communications or Fine Arts
Preferred/Related Discipline: Digital Design/ Videography/ Journalism
Year in School: Junior or Senior, or Graduate Student
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A general passion and interest in film and video editing (previous samples of work preferred) Experience with media software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator. A working knowledge of photo and video storage and beginner-to-intermediate skill levels in the software used in producing and editing video and photography.
Working Conditions Ability to work in both studio and non-studio environments. A valid Florida Driver's License. Travel to locations beyond the Tampa Area may be required.
Willing to work occasional nights and weekends. Preferred Availability: Part - Time (20-30 hours)
