What you will do: Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers' product lines.
How you will do it: Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspectionsAccurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspectionProfessionally represent the company at all timesComplete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding through communicating devices, such as laptop computers, smartphones, and/or hardcopyFollow and maintain a highly structured inspection scheduleMake minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspectedComplete assigned inspections on timePerform other duties as directedCarry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical laborAssist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systemsPerform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipmentBe enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship StandardsHave a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly What we look for: Required High School Diploma or EquivalentNICET I certification or ability to obtain within 8 months of hireNICET II certification or ability to obtain within 24 months of hireAble to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codesExperience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manualsExperience with hand tools and multi-meter usageCapable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbsAble to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirementsDemonstrate a high level of customer serviceAbility to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all timesStrong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quicklyPossess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirementsAble to pass a pre-employment background and drug test
