We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sr.
Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Accounting team.
The ideal candidate has a broad range of skills across accounting and finance with substantial experience in fixed assets management.
Their strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and asset management will be crucial in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial matters at Voltera.
In addition to general accounting responsibilities with a focus on fixed assets, they will also help develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Analyze financial data and create reports for management review.
Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Perform periodic reserve review and testing of impairment of fixed assets.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper recording and tracking of fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
Review and reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger.
Calculate and record depreciation for all fixed assets.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements Participate in special projects and perform ad hoc analysis as required by management.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
MUST-HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on fixed assets management Experience with accounting software Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment NICE-TO-HAVE: CPA or equivalent certification Experience in cost accounting Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) Prior accounting experience in the real estate industry LOCATION: Arlington, VA (Hybrid-2-3 days per week in office)
Compensation ($90,000 to $115,000): Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
