JAKKS Pacific, Inc., a leading designer and marketer of toys and consumer products, with a wide range of products that feature some of the most popular brands and children's toy licenses in the world, currently seeks an experienced, energetic, self-starter for the role of Senior Accountant, General Ledger for our headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. This role will be part of the General Ledger Accounting team and support the month-end, quarterly and annual close processes as well as the SEC reporting process.
Responsibilities Include
Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for journal entries that is compliant with the requirements of our internal control's system (SOX 404b)
Develop a deeper understanding of the assigned areas and support analytical reviews of the financial statement data
Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits
Assist with tax returns and statutory audits/filings for multiple jurisdictions
Support special/ad-hoc projects, as needed
Skills & Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Some public accounting experience is a plus
Understanding of U.S. GAAP and its applications
2-10 years of accounting experience
Team spirit and strong sense of responsibility and ownership
Experience with SOX 404b and internal controls a plus
SEC reporting experience a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, complex formulas, processing large amounts of data)
Proficiency with ERP accounting software and database programs (experience with JD Edwards a plus)
Quantitative, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize work
Ability and willingness to take initiative and apply curiosity to develop new approaches and solutions
Ability to meet deadlines and work some overtime as required during peak seasons

Compensation: JAKKS Pacific offers a competitive salary. Compensation for this role commensurate with experience, qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from $65,000-$100,000.
