This position is responsible for assisting in determining financial objectives, organizing and maintaining financial accounting systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, financial statements, budgets and projections. Facilitate the general ledger month-end close process and presentation of the balance sheet and income statement results and analysis. Responsible for the preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing in order to close books in a timely manner. Research and compile missing information in charge and paid adjustment files for preparation of monthly accounts receivable and revenue entries. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the company and physician group financial statements including other ancillary reports as needed. Assist Practice Managers with review, interpretation, and evaluation of monthly results. Responsible for analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and reporting on variances. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling expense accounts. Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis. Management and maintenance of all fixed assets including processing, reconciling, policy, and procedure. Communicate with hospital administration to coordinate their capital contribution. Prepare and report annual Claim for Welfare Exemption and Business Property Statements for property tax purposes for all locations. Prepare and maintain lease summary for new and expiring agreements. Process monthly rent payments and sublease invoicing. Update and maintain various expense allocations based on property location square footage. Assists in the development of department objectives including short- and long-range accounting programs in budgeting, profit analysis, accounting systems, and internal controls. Manages financial accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information. Review of the financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows; and analysis of variances from budgets and projections. Assist with annual audits and interact with auditors regarding accounting functions. Assists in development of and monitoring of internal financial controls. Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Assist with special projects assigned by management. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop-down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.
