Have the competency to ensure that reports, accounts, systems, policies, and practices adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management. Support the credit union's mission, vision, strategic goals, and service standards. These are what your duties and responsibilities will be: Assist AVP of Accounting & Comptroller in overseeing the day-to-day operations in the accounting department. Maintain complete, timely and accurate records for various GL accounts or activities of the CU and manage reporting of same. Accurately prepare monthly General ledger reconciliations as assigned by no later than 30 days after month end/ Maintain, reconcile, and research various subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger including fixed assets, credit cards, investments, loan, mortgages, benefits, bank reconciliations, correspondent accounts, and other general ledger accounts. Responsible for project development, leading and implementing projects assigned in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain procedures and support implementations of process improvements while utilizing quality tools and functions. Can you to bring to the table: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business from an accredited college or university. Successful completion of a minimum 15 credit hours of accounting courses. Four years of resent experience in accounting. Two years' experience in reviewing and finalizing financials or project and development implementations. Advanced degree may be substituted for experience. Proficient Excel and data management skills required. Proficient in MS Office Including Outlook, Adobe and Word. Solid understanding of GAAP. Must understand full cycle of accounting from transactions to financial statements. Basic skills with identifying and assessing member needs; creating, building and maintaining strong relationships gaining the member's trust.
