Job Summary:
The Senior Advancement Director for Student Success Advancement will lead fundraising efforts in support of philanthropic priorities of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, as outlined, and in support of the divisions of Student Affairs, Scholarships & Financial Aid, Undergraduate Studies, Honors College, and the Graduate School.
Reporting to the Principal Advancement Director for Student Success, the senior director will manage a major and principal gift portfolio, identifying new prospects and stewarding relationships to expand the funding for student success initiatives at the University. This position will lead major fundraising initiatives, build annual development plans, and track progress toward goals to expand funding to meet the needs of students across campus.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a portfolio of major and principal gift donors. Proactively identify new prospects, steward existing relationships, and work to increase overall fundraising efforts in support of the student success priorities of the university.
Manage a small team of development staff, ensuring fundraising team members are trained on priorities, and given the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Collaborate with local and national foundations staff to identify and submit proposals to support student initiatives.
Establish annual development plans and goals for top campus student success priorities, and work with university leadership to develop and update case statements in support of these efforts.
Model a One U advancement mindset by collaborating closely with advancement professionals across campus and maintaining a donor-centric fundraising mindset.
Participate in professional organizations and build a network with peer institutions to raise visibility of the University.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related area, or equivalency; eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communications skills required.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
Eight or more years of direct fundraising experience in higher education advancement.
Demonstrated experience managing advancement professionals.
Master's degree in public administration, or non-profit management, business administration, or related field.
