About the RoleAs our first in-house Senior Back-End Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping our product and driving our technology to new heights. Working closely with our Head of Engineering, you'll take ownership of our existing Golang back-end codebase and contribute to the scalability, reliability, and overall success of our systems as we approach launch.
You will play a critical role in preparing our platform for public release, optimizing our backend for scale, and architecting future features that will help patients and caregivers get the care they deserve. This position offers the chance to make a tangible impact in healthcare, with room to grow into a leadership role as our engineering team expands.
As a Sr. Back End Engineer at Manta Cares, you will get to:Serve as the first in-house back-end engineer, working closely with the head of engineering and the product team.Take ownership of existing back-end code and continue development.Contribute to the scalability and reliability of our systems.Maintain and improve systems while architecting next-generation features.Own code quality, testing, performance optimization, and documentation for backend systems.Collaborate closely with the broader engineering team, including external developers.Documentation and implementation of best practices for backend systems.You should have:5+ years or equivalent experience in backend development.Proficiency in Golang.Mastery of development tooling (git or similar, build tools, etc.)Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Working knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).You might also have experience in:Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker).Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure tools like Terraform.Experience in high-traffic or scaling applications.Background in healthcare/life sciences tech, with familiarity with HIPAA or other user data regulations.What we offer:Opportunity to be the first in-house back-end engineer, with significant impact on product and technology.Direct collaboration with company leadership.Chance to take a product from late-stage development to launch and beyond.Opportunity to work on meaningful problems in the healthcare/life sciences domain.Exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from design to production support.Flexible, unlimited PTO.Health Insurance.
