If so, the Amazon MODE (Media Operations, Data, and Execution) team is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our global, cross-functional team. As the Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in establishing a standardized data platform with clean, reliable, and accessible data feeds. This platform will support the functional areas of cross-channel media strategy and planning, buying, marketing operations, campaign reporting, and measurement. By providing trustworthy data, technology, and tools, you will empower the business to become more data-aware and make informed, data-driven decisions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across marketing, advertising, finance, engineering, legal, and product management. Key job responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and oversee the reporting pipelines to onboard agency managed media metrics into reporting and measurement tool, using appropriate technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)Complete new data onboarding for current and future roadmap of RAFT (Reporting and Fast Twitch Insights) and TaCS (Taxonomy and Campaign Spend) for reporting and measurement with agencies outside of US to enable data-driven decision-makingOnboard new Lines of Businesses to RAFT and TaCS by designing the data model, developing the reporting pipelines and creating the dashboardCollaborate with stakeholders (marketing, advertising, finance, engineering, science, legal, and product management) to understand business domains, requirements, and expectationsWork closely with owners of data source systems to gain insights into their capabilities and limitationsDeliver minimally to moderately complex data analysis to support business needsAdopt best practices in reporting, including ensuring data integrity, designing thorough testing, validating outputs, and maintaining comprehensive documentationA day in the lifeThe successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They will collaborate with executives and business units across Amazon, bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, and prioritize the most impactful projects and programs to drive businesses forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity of building innovative solutions with large-scale data tools, identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of professional or military experience5+ years of SQL experienceExperience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data setsExperience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar toolsExperience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needsExperience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadershipExperience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.Adjacency and understanding on media and marketing landscapeExperience in code review and version control tools, such as gitAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
