Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).

Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) in Kuipers Commercial Revenue Operations you will define the teams business intelligence (BI) vision, strategy, and best practices.
You will lead the design, implementation, and delivery of high impact BI solutions in a startup environment with limited guidance.
You will collaborate with business partners from sales, marketing, operations, product, engineering, finance and legal to define, plan, and build complex analytical solutions to inform business planning, sales performance, customer life-cycle analysis, capacity management and more.
You will translate strategic and operational data needs into the necessary data models, ETL pipelines, reports, and visualizations.
As the team grows, you will participate in hiring and mentoring other BIEs.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain complex visualizations to monitor and report business performance metrics
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from diverse sources to identify trends and patterns
- Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and usability of existing dashboards and reports.
- Work on data pipelines, data models and leverage the AWS tech stack to build visualizations
- Map security controls to systems to present this data to auditors both internal and external.
- Collect event logs from systems and devices to present the data on dashboards for key indicators on health.
- Collect group membership data from systems to present the data in dashboards for visibility into who has access to what services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders in leveraging dashboards and data insights to enhance decision-making processes related to security.

About the team
The Commercial Revenue Operations (CRO) team is responsible for driving business strategy, product management, customer adoption, system development and operations for Kuiper's commercial business.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g.
Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
