What you'll doDocusign's Cloud Automation team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting, versatile Sr. Cloud Engineer to join our growing team in supporting the Docusign Azure Cloud platform. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in networking and systems engineering with a strong understanding of enterprise cloud fundamentals for high availability. They are also knowledgeable in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, implementing security controls, and monitoring environment health.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must embrace DevOps/GitOps practices and have a deep passion for automation. We are looking for someone who can help us optimize multiple Azure tenants as part of a multi-year migration from on-prem. An ideal candidate is highly motivated and able to lead project initiatives with minimal guidance from lead engineers.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Automation.
Responsibilities Plan and implement system and network architecturesWrite Infrastructure-as-Code automation to manage and deploy infrastructure in the cloud using technologies such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, AZCLI, Python, Ansible and PowerShellWork with engineers to understand and provide guidance around hosting, security, performance, and deployment requirementsPerform proactive and reactive vulnerability remediations and work with security teams to further Docusign's security posture in AzureReview resource utilizations and perform optimizations to keep environment running healthyManage Azure Compute resources with high availability across multiple zones and regionsDeploy Azure networking resources such as Load Balancers, Application Gateways, Virtual Networks, UDRs, and moreMonitor services and instrument telemetry where neededProvide off-hours production support as requiredAssist with DevOps related tasks such as enhancements to CI/CD pipelinesSupport Kubernetes environments and help migrate legacy solutions to containersJob DesignationHybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)
What you bringBasic Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field8+ years of experience performing System Engineering related responsibilities5+ years of experience in advanced scripting and automation5+ years of experience managing resources in a cloud-based server environment3+ years of experience implementing and managing IaaC solutionsPreferred Azure Certifications (e.g., AZ-104) and Terraform Certification (e.g., Terraform Associate)Expertise in scripting using bash, PowerShell, Ansible and/or PythonStrong understanding of networking and troubleshooting through various OSI layersExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes)Solid understanding of how to work incidents to resolution with minimal impact along with automating self-healing solutions and driving RCA'sKnowledge of various incident management processesExperience with monitoring and telemetry software such as Grafana and PrometheusStrong interpersonal skills, team orientation and a willingness to mentor less senior engineersIntellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutionsFamiliarity with constructing and managing immutable infrastructureAbility to perform in a fast paced and dynamic business environmentWage TransparencyPay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $151,800.00 - $245,150.00 base salary
Illinois and Colorado: $145,800.00 - $205,950.00 base salary
Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $145,800.00 - $214,350.00 base salary
This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
