Philo is looking for a highly motivated executive who will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and acquiring compelling content for Philo's live TV product and leading relationships with key content partners. In this role, you will be able to put your passion, experience, and know-how to help shape the direction of Philo's future content offerings and strategy.
About the Philo Content Team: Philo's content team is tasked with developing content and packaging strategy, maintaining programmer relationships, and negotiating licensing agreements. In addition, the team looks to create new lines of revenue for the company via expansion into new content verticals, supporting advertising initiatives, and other strategic partnerships.

What You'll Do: Lead negotiations with senior executives at content companies (e.g. programmers, studios, production companies) supporting new and/or existing businesses to achieve Philo's strategic and financial goalsDevelop strategy for key content deals and renewals with 9-figure values based on audience insights and market dynamics and through leveraging your industry experience and expertiseInterface with the Philo executive team (CEO, COO, CFO) during major deals to drive consensus among stakeholdersProvide support in evaluating new business opportunities through market analysis, due diligence, cost/revenue forecasting, and defining product requirementsRepresent content team interests on internal goal-based teams and participate in strategic planning process for content initiativesFoster relationships with external partners as well as internal finance, legal, advertising, marketing, and engineering teamsBe an ambassador for the Philo brand by representing Philo at industry events and participating in speaking engagementsWhat You'll Bring: A passion for content and television and where the industry is headedComprehensive understanding of the media landscape, content trends, and distribution channelsMinimum 10 years experience in content acquisition/distribution or a similar field with a proven track record of negotiating complex, high-value deals for ad-supported television contentEstablished relationships with major programming groups, network owners, studios, and licensing companiesProficiency in interpreting and using viewership and audience data in making content decisionsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from inception to completion, meeting deadlines and objectives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an unwavering dedication to quality workStrong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to tailor messages across business, financial, product, and technical audiences at multiple levelsA leadership style based in ownership, empathy, and humilityMore about Philo We strive to build engaging and easy to use streaming apps across a large number of platforms (Android Mobile, Android tablets, Android TV, Amazon FireTV, Roku, iOS, Apple TV, and web), while delivering a large variety of content to our users.
Today there are over 70 channels included in our basic package -- our lineup includes many popular cable networks, like A&E, Animal Planet, BET, Comedy Central, CMT, Discovery Channel, Food Network, Game Show Network, Hallmark, HGTV, IFC, INSP, Lifetime, MTV, Nickelodeon, OWN, Paramount Network, Sundance, TV One, and VH1. We also offer premium add-on channels from Starz and MGM+, and we're always adding more content!

Compensation: Includes annual salary between $160K - $240K depending on experience, company stock options and health benefits
