Here's how you can help. We are currently looking for a Sr. Corporate Counsel specialized in Compliance to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service.
Position Highlights:
Leads and supports a wide range of global compliance matters including a global treasury program. Assess needs and implement/monitor compliance efforts ensuring the association is compliant in the many countries LCI/F operates
What You'll Do:
Develops and manages a global treasury program in coordination with the General Counsel and Chief Finance Officer.Assess needs and drive compliance efforts with annual filings and registration requirements for the Association and Foundation.Conduct legal research to evaluate the Association's risk in countries where bank accounts are held. Recommends appropriate course of action to senior leadership with regard to Association business entities and banking matters.Conduct complex internal investigations related to violation of LCI/F code of conduct and/or the laws and regulations in countries where LCI/F operates.Develops and delivers training on compliance requirements, managing issues related to outside service providers and ensuring that compliance policies and procedures align with local and international laws.Leads the identification, communication, measurement, and management of Association risk. Manages relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters and other third-party administrators. Develops and manages relationships with outside vendors and suppliers including engaging and monitoring outside counsel.Advises on best practices and compliance with global privacy and data protection laws, as well as overseeing legal and regulatory aspects oof data collection and use, privacy disclosures and transparency and related issues.Disseminates information used in decision-making by the board or a committee of the board.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations as appropriate to field.Research industry trends to implement best practices for the association.Review applications for use of the Association trademarks and monitors and responds to illegal use of trademarks.We're Looking for Someone With:
Juris Doctorate degreeOver ten years of experience supporting diverse compliance and risk projects, programs, and initiativesLicensed to practice law in IllinoisInternational experience is essentialDomestic and international travel required; approximately 5% travel time or 5-15 days annually.Why You'll Love Working Here:
