We are looking for a Senior Development Director in our Richmond VA market. In this role, you will lead the Heart Ball campaign as a player/coach and supervise a Development Director and the strategies of this signature campaign.

Responsibilities As the Senior Development Director, you will be responsible for: Leading the team to achieve or exceed this year's annual revenue goal of $1.5 million or more.Developing and implementing strategies for revenue growth through key fundraising events, strategic market partnerships, and philanthropic donors.Relationship Building: Identifying, nurturing, and recruiting C-suite and Upper Level Management volunteer leaders.Soliciting, activating, and managing relationships with key corporate and community leaders.Establishing new accounts and cultivating new customers to increase revenue generation.Team Development: Providing coaching and mentoring to your direct reports, ensuring their success.Building a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance our mission.Qualifications Want to help get your resume to the top? Take a look at the experience we require: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate sales or fundraising with at least one of those years supervising staff with a revenue goal.Bachelor's degree preferred, college coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff to use standard methodologies, timelines, and volunteer engagement practices to ensure that revenue targets are reached.Ability to successfully identify, cultivate, recruit, and maintain relationships with senior level volunteers/customers.Validated experience in exceeding sales/fundraising goals. Must be able to understand and navigate corporate cultures to achieve goals.Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and social skills.Must be willing to work outside normal hours including early morning, evenings, and weekends as needed.Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.So, are you ready to work for the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases?
Compensation – Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $72,400 to $96,600. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. This position is incentive eligible based upon achieving certain targets.

Work-Life Harmonization – The Association offers Paid Time Off (PTO) at a minimum of 16 days per year for new employees. You will also have a total of 12 paid holidays off each year.
