Main Objective: Responsible for developing, executing, and communicating the long-term digital product strategy and roadmap for assigned product portfolio. Works with cross-functional development team as well as domestic and international leadership teams and stakeholders to determine alignment of digital strategy and roadmap with corporate goals and user needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Partners with domestic and international leadership teams and stakeholders on the creation of a long-term digital product strategy and high-level product roadmap for assigned product portfolio in support of strategic objectives, business priorities, and revenue growth. Communicates digital product vision and strategy for assigned product portfolio to leadership team, stakeholders, and cross-functional development team. Partners with the development team on the execution of the digital product strategy for assigned product portfolio. Serves as lead contact, product knowledge expert, and main decision maker for digital solutions for assigned product portfolio. Actively engages in all phases of the digital product lifecycle from requirements gathering through development, release, and maintenance. Regularly engages with end users and stakeholders from the assigned product portfolio to ensure digital solutions meet global user needs. Analyzes market trends, conducts competitive analysis, and presents opportunities to gain a competitive edge via digital solution development. Prioritizes feature development based on user and market research, analytics insights, and business needs. Defines and prioritizes epics and user stories for new features and functionality and partners with Business Analyst(s) and development team on defining acceptance criteria and contributing to User Acceptance Testing. Participates in Agile process including product backlog refinement/prioritization, Sprint planning/review, and Sprint retrospective meetings to ensure product vision is accurately being implemented. Collaborates with User Experience and Analytics teams on identifying and defining user and customer needs, personas, metrics, KPIs, and success measures. Analyzes digital performance metrics and data to uncover insights that support data-driven decision-making in pursuit of continuous improvement. Identifies and tracks risks and develops risk mitigation strategies in partnership with development team and Business Analyst(s). Helps identify and track cross-team dependencies to support most effective orchestration of development activities across multiple development teams. Encourages a culture of team-driven decision making and accountability, and actively initiates trust-building activities for Agile development teams. Where appropriate, coaches Agile development teams to improve team health, collaboration, and outcomes. Advocates for the end user and ensures that the design/development team has a deep understanding of domestic and international target audiences. Occasional travel for training, meetings or trade shows may be required. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Management, Computer Science, or related field required, Master's degree or MBA preferred. 10 years of experience in marketing, sales, or product management role. Experience working with digital systems, analytics, and user experience principles. Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills required to interact with cross-functional development teams, leadership, stakeholders, and internal/external customers. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and influence development teams and stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Ability to successfully collaborate with a cross-functional, multicultural, and geographically dispersed team. Ability to build deep-trust relationships and influence decision-making in a matrixed environment. Track record of leading by example and demonstrating servant leadership. Ability to develop and execute successful digital product roadmaps and solutions. Multi-year track record of success leading the development and launching customer-centric digital products on time and within budget. Holistic understanding of web and mobile technologies and trends. Analytical skills including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, develop recommendations, and report out. Advanced project management skills. Health care industry and orthopedic medical experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Agile development methodology is required. Organizational development and coaching education and/or experience strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Experience working with a wide variety of collaboration tools.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
