Summary: The Sr. Director of Contracts participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services. Helps evaluate contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations. Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions. Prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements; negotiates contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids.
Responsibilities Directs all activities in the organization's contracts administration function.Oversees the preparation and administration of bids, proposals, negotiations, and contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements.Directs the contracts administration staff and guides compliance with complex contractual and regulatory requirements.Directs and develops policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff and provides guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals.Has deep knowledge of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations.Negotiates complex or high-value contracts.Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.8-10 years experience in a relevant function.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant degree.Experience within the defense industry.Preferred professional procurement/contracting certifications at the state or national levels, such as certifications offered by NCMA, CFCM, CPCM.Government contracts experience.Working knowledge of munitions: associated platforms, strategic and tactical systems, and military munitions/platform interface requirements.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface.Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines.Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment.Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.Must be able to possess strong planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly.Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety.Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan.Consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.Performance Metrics.Strategic Planning.Contract management software.Other Requirements: Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools.Contract compliance.Contract lifecycle management.Contract negotiation.Contracts management and administration.Contract review.Contracting terms and conditions.Willingness and ability to travel up to 25-50% of time, including possible international travel.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
