Job Description
Dexter is the premier manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. We have an opportunity for

a Sr. Director of Finance

at our distribution office in

Lisle, IL.

Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Dexter has manufacturing and distribution locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Sr. Director of Finance provides Dexter Distribution Group (DDG) financial leadership and partnership including oversight and coordination of financial planning activities, budget management, financial analysis support and reporting. This person works closely with Accounting to ensure procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles and good fiduciary controls (including SOX). Additionally, they work closely with IT reporting and ERP teams on projects impacting business analytics as well as business processes and system changes to ensure sound analysis and controls are in place.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Foster a close partnership with DDG General Manager and their lead-team to drive positive outcomes through challenging the status quo and enabling the business with the right information and support.

Directly lead and mentor the DDG FP&A team to help drive positive financial outcomes leading to commercial sales growth, EBITDA margin expansion, and cash flow growth.

Work closely with Accounting and Reporting teams to drive clear and transparent reporting to deliver elevated business performance.

Provide decision support by analyzing strategies and tactical business plans and determine short and long-term financial implications.

Operate and maintain a coordinated financial management system to budget, collect, control, and properly account for annual operating and capital funds.

Coordinate with Accounting and other groups on the development of and compliance with appropriate controls, policies, procedures, and governance principles for financial management.

Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement.

Monitor and ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and laws as applicable and ensure Company policies and procedures are adhered to.

Maintain the highest ethical standards.

Drive efficiency and process improvement into the finance function.

Develop meaningful financial reporting, planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Ensure that accurate, timely and comprehensive financial information is provided to support management decisions.

Keep abreast of the business and economic climate in which the company operates.

Assist as needed with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as well as tax schedules, returns, and information which meet deadlines.

Accomplish finance human resource strategies by determining accountabilities and implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, and communication programs.

Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.

The Sr. Director of Finance directly supervises employees in the DDG FP&A Department at headquarters and remote. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

Requires Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a comparable discipline and at least 12 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
