Job Summary:
Hologic is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Product Development to lead our software development team in creating cutting-edge diagnostic instruments. These instruments are pivotal in cervical cancer screening, digital pathology, sample processing, and other related fields. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in software development, a deep understanding of medical device regulations, and a proven track record in leading innovative product development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for diagnostic instruments, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.
Develop and implement strategic plans for product development, focusing on innovation, quality, and time-to-market.
Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of software developers, engineers, and managers.

Product Development: Drive the design and development of software for diagnostic instruments, including cervical cancer screening tools, digital pathology systems, and sample processing solutions.
Ensure the integration of advanced technologies and methodologies to enhance product performance and user experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality, regulatory affairs, and marketing to ensure successful product launches.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant medical device regulations and standards, including FDA, ISO, and CE Mark requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting medical device software development.

Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
Implement robust project management practices to track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure quality outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional meetings to promote our products and capabilities.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the medical device industry.
Proven track record of leading successful product development projects from concept to commercialization.
In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (FDA, ISO, CE Mark).

Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive innovation.
Excellent project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and budgets.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $187,300 to $333,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand.
