This role is with Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging which designs custom packaging automation, conveyance and sortation solutions for large-scale deployment in Amazon's fulfillment network. Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for power and signal distribution. You will work closely with hardware and controls engineers to create and document industrial electrical architectures for our custom automation systems. You are familiar with safety and compliance standards for electrical systems that used in industrial buildings, such electrical panel cabinets and NEC electrical code. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings, have a high standard for execution, and desire to mentor junior Electrical Engineers.
A day in the life
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
•Work with interdisciplinary teams to architect and execute electrical designs from concept to production, including prototyping, validation, testing, and certification.
•Architecture and design of industrial electrical systems and work closely with the Controls team.
•Write and develop functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.
•Manage multiple projects in parallel .
•Support product release to manufacturing and customer deployments.
•Establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).
•Travel to development sites to troubleshoot issues.

Bellevue, WA, USA BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - BS / MS Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10 + years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical design, including power distribution
- Practical knowledge and understanding of the NEC electrical code
- Ability to lead a technical team
- Experience designing complex schematics for industrial application
- Experience in Controls System
- Experience with serial communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, etc)
- Experience executing design reviews in front of interdisciplinary teams
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written (white papers) and oral communication skills
- Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
