GENERAL SUMMARY
Manage all aspects of Rapid's manufacturing operations. Develop and implement plans to efficiently utilize materials, labor, and equipment. Ensure that all parts, assemblies, and final products are produced on schedule and according to established requirements. Work with executives to develop manufacturing and production plans, schedules, and targets. Monitor shift production metrics, create metrics where gaps are identified, and identify and resolve issues and develop process improvements. Plan and direct maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed.
\n ResponsibilitiesAssists company executive in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.Directs and monitors (managers), supervisors and group leaders to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Acts as a liaison between department leads, as well as executives to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results. Hires, trains, coaches, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policies. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate. Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and waste (i.e. scrap, production waste labor inefficiencies), monitors performance data. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards. Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.). Oversee and direct operations related to production to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop production schedules, materials, and resource requirements to meet short and long-term production goals. Partners with Manufacturing Engineering in the initiation, coordination, and planning of major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.). Ability to clearly communicate direction and plan both verbally and written required. Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required. Supervisory ResponsibilistiesSenior Manager responsible for Production Supervisors, Team Leads, Technicians, and Operators. Current operations are two shifts with plans that could expand to three shifts or more in the future. Assists executives in defining organizational goals and strategic plans. Extensive business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area. Current operations requires oversight of two shifts (AM & PM), possibility to expand to three. PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESBS in Management, Engineering or equivalent required; MBA is a plusLean experience required; lean certification a plus8-10 years of progressive Operations leadership with at least 5 years in a manger or director level roleStrong collaboration and execution skills Working conditions/Pysical Demands Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Close visual acuity to work on a computer and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.Appropriate gowning procedures will be required for access to the cleanroom (hairnet, safety glasses, cleanroom apparel/lab coats, gloves)Occasional environmental odors may be present.This is not a remote or hybrid-remote position, in-person attendance is required.Must be able to respond to off-hours needs as required. Occasional weekend support as required.
