The opportunity:
Lead the transformation and ongoing operation of the company's Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes. Consolidate and standardize the enabling processes, technologies, and teams under a single, global P2P process that enhances the performance and value delivered. P2P includes all global activities including tactical/local sourcing, requisitioning, approving, purchasing, delivery, receipt, and supplier payment. This leader will play a pivotal role in driving a process transformation and be accountable for delivering an efficient and effective process across the enterprise.
How you will impact WestRock:
Manage P2P transformation:
Execute the strategy for P2P consolidation and standardization from a people, process, and technology perspective
Develop business cases and execution methodology for insourcing or outsourcing P2P processes
Ensure internal organization(s) and/or outsourced relationships deliver against Procurement's and Finance's strategic objectives
Lead and manage the development and optimization of P2P processes
Partner with cross-functional leadership to implement the strategic vision, technology decisions and transformational roadmap for P2P to include companywide eProcurement tool implementation.
Own the P2P delivery:
Establish performance metrics to define, measure, track, and communicate key P2P performance indicators (KPIs)
Ensure all Purchasing and Payables standards and compliance requirements are met
Work with strategic functional leaders on a global P2P service delivery model
Interact directly with other Finance process owners to resolve issues, ensure accurate financials, meet business needs, etc.
Ensure agreed-upon Service Levels are met or exceeded across all P2P activities
Monitor compliance with Procurement and Finance policies and procedures
Ensure integrity of data, and conformance to company policies and external regulations including statutory requirements
Investigate audit findings; implement corrective action and monitor compliance with agreed-upon recommendations
Establish, socialize, and manage approval limits with functional leadership
Manage P2P systems and process controls:
Help Leverage business and financial data and systems to ensure the quality (accuracy and completeness) of transactions
Coordinate the development, implementation, and ongoing alignment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure accuracy and timely reporting
Conduct training sessions on company processes, systems, and tools
Identify and implement remediation of any identified control gaps
Drive continuous improvement for the end-to-end P2P process:
Identify, document, and communicate business improvement recommendations that accurately portray business risks and opportunities for improving P2P business processes and controls
Develop and manage guidelines and policies for P2P operations
Investigate the uses of RPA, Blockchain, AI/machine learning, and other technologies that will support the automation of P2P processes
Facilitate the implementation and sharing of leading practices across P2P resource teams
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business or related field required; Master's degree preferred
CPSM or other certification desirable
10 years of professional experience with background in process improvement, Purchase-to-Pay business processes, Procurement and Payables Operations, Program Management, Change Management, and/or ERP implementation and governance
Experience managing P2P processes or other core procurement, finance, accounting, or planning processes, within a complex, high volume manufacturing environment
Appreciation of US GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements
Understanding of predictive analytics, insights, and related tools and technology
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma concepts to support process continuous improvement
Proficiency with various data reporting tools
Experience working in an international organization.
Demonstrated ability to analyze information and identify trends
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and establish rapport across the organization
Ability to easily build rapport with stakeholders and resolve potential conflicts.
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints
