Ford EVDD is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles. By joining the best software, engineering, design and UX talent, you will be a part of creating new technologies and concepts that can be applied across the Ford enterprise. Develop traction inverter for electric vehicle applications.
Design, bring-up, characterize and troubleshoot traction inverter.
Trade-off and optimize inverter design for best powertrain performance.
Perform complex circuit design analysis, thermal analysis, and control analysis.
Hands-on develop circuit schematics and PCB layout.
Perform design failure analysis and support functional safety activities.
Support design validation and end-of-line tests specifications.
Collaborate with mechanical design, software, system, project management, supply chain functions throughout the organization.
3+ years of experience in power electronics product development
Familiar with IGBT, MOSFET etc. devices and power modules
In-depth knowledge of three-phase traction inverter
Hands-on experience of schematic capture and circuit simulation & analysis tools.
Hands-on experience of PCB layout for better signal integrity and manufacturability
MS, or PhD in EE.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with EMI troubleshooting
Familiar with motor control
Experience with safety-critical automotive hardware development
Familiar with industry standards and regulatory requirements for power electronics products.
