Ford EVDD is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up breakthrough electric vehicles. In this role you will work on crucial hardware in the loop test engineering problems across our real-time application development teams for deeper test integration with underlying resources. HIL engineers help bridge the gap between hardware engineers, controls and software engineers, leveraging proven profiling, test, and debugging techniques to optimize our systems. Experience in HIL testing of On-Board charger, DC-DC Converter, DC-AC Inverter
Create HIL test strategies, test cases and scripts based on internal and regulatory requirements.
Model Power electronics on Typhoon HIL
Set-up test equipment and run hands-on tests.
Support all release testing and bug triaging.
Help identify gaps in requirements and review the requirements for testability.
Work on setups to allow highly automated software release testing.
Create data acquisition systems for test data recording.
Utilize numerical data analysis tools to interpret test results.
Document results and provide reports.
Establish traceability using requirement management tools and version control.
Investigate test failures through analysis and failure reproduction
5+ years of testing and validation experience.
·Bachelor/master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
Working experience with matlab, PLECS, simscape, HDL coder (FPGA).
Power electronics modeling experience with dSPACE/Typhoon/OPAL-RT.
Experience modeling semiconductor components like SiC, GaN and Silicon.
Knowledge of PWM methodologies, Dual active bridge DC-DC topology and Power Factor Corrector (PFC).
Knowledge of lab instruments such as DMM, Oscilloscope, power supplies, and DAQs.
Experience with industry standard I/O and communications interfaces, e.g, CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Ethernet.
Experience with HV systems.
Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
Experience setting up automation framework in python and/or Tracetronic ECU-Test.
Ability to break down requirements into tests.
Desired skills:
Experience with Typhoon Schematic tools.
Knowledge/familiarity of standards ISO26262 and SAEJ1772.
Experience with automotive regulatory, environmental, reliability, and safety requirements. SAE, IEC, ISO.
Experience with Test management tools like DOORS/Polarion/JAMA.
Test automation set up experience like CI/CD Pipeline is a plus.
Experience setting up the HIL on dSPACE/Typhoon/similar.
Familiarity with diagnostics protocol like UDS ISO14229.
Software development/programming experience in C/C++/LabVIEW.
