SR Principal Logistics Engineer (Contingent Upon Award) Location Dayton, OH (Downtown area) : As the SR Principal Logistics Engineer candidate, you will provide logistics and product support technical leadership internally and across Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) vendors in support of the SAOC Program within the IAS NC3 business area. Tasks require detailed knowledge of US DoD acquisition logistics processes and 12 Logistics Elements as described by the Defense Acquisition University. Notable tasks include: Subcontractor technical management, development of an Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) database, conduct and delivery and generation of Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) reports and coordination with design and system engineers to assure that ILS requirements are met, maintenance planning, ILS CDRL development and delivery, presentation of ILS status, and meeting facilitation. Learn more about IAS Responsibilities: The ideal candidate is familiar with logistics requirements, activities, and processes performed as part of systems engineering concepts in support of Department of Defense 5000.1 Defense Acquisition System programs as well as life-cycle logistics requirements, tasks, and work products typically performed as in support of activities identified in MIL-HDBK-502A and AFMAN23-110. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to successfully plan, organize, develop, direct, coordinate, manage requirements, and provide logistical management for the design, deployment, installation, and sustainment of programs, to include development of proposals, statements of work, and provide data to the engineering change proposal (ECP) process, and the development of Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), acquisition strategies and plans, instructions, technical manuals, and perform evaluations of contractor proposals. The candidate will direct and coordinate program activities designed to provide subcontractors, SNC program management, and customers with logistics work products that ensure effective and economical support for manufacturing and servicing of products, systems, or equipment. The candidate will demonstrate experience in the analysis of contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistics program activities from conceptual state through life-cycle of product. The ideal candidate will demonstrate familiarity with Automatic Identification Technology (AIT), including Item Unique Identification (IUID) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) The ideal candidate will offer experience with aircraft recapitalization programs and familiarity of system program office functions on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) and Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) roles within aircraft sustainment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the development of LSAR, and MIPs/MRCs, provisioning documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-1388 via a Logistics Management Information (LMI) database (using tools such as SlicWave or PowerLog J) and outputting the various associated reports (i.e., -036's PPL, SFPPL, LLTIL, RIL, ISIL, TTEL, CBIL, PCL), support equipment requirements (documented in the SECL and SERD) and associated SMR coding. The candidate will assume the lead in the composition and presentation of the logistics programs for formal design reviews, successfully meeting all logistics related entry and exit criteria for major presentations with customers. The candidate will be familiar with maintenance planning and optimization using software such as COMPASS, OPUS 10, etc. The candidate must demonstrate familiarity with concepts and mathematical models generated in support of Reliability, Maintainability/Testability, and Supportability engineering in support of systems engineering efforts, performing analysis across the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements using proven engineering processes and tools. Candidate will develop, review, or approve mathematical models which consider elements such as mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to failures (MTTF), mean time to repair (MTTR), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and sparing calculations. The candidate will compile and review data on bills of materials to plan, schedule, and manage logistics activities. Candidate must be familiar with references such as MIL-HDBK-470, MIL-STD-217F and MIL-STD-2084. A preferred candidate will be familiar with Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) data transactions from legacy Air Force logistics data systems with the objective to measure and produce a view of Air Force responsiveness to MICAPs and other urgent item requests.
