PURPOSE:
As part of the process development team, the Senior Principal MEMS Design Engineer will be responsible for developing break-through contactor designs for FormFactor's next generation products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate will be specifically responsible for design, structure simulation, layout and mask tape out for Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) contactors. Candidate will be responsible for documentation and archiving of new designs and layouts. Candidate will collaborate with integration, test, reliability, and process development teams to bring new contactor designs from early R&D stages to high volume manufacturing. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Ph.D.
in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEMS, or equivalent discipline required (exceptional Master's candidates will be considered). 2 years of hands-on experience in design, simulation, fabrication and test of mechanical structures (preferably MEMS structures).
Entry level candidates must have relevant graduate research experience. Hands-on experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) and mask layout software. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Expertise in statistical & design of experiment (DOE) methods, and statistical process control (SPC). Strong oral and written communication skills.
The pay range for this role in Livermore, California is between $136,200 and $178,815.
The pay range may differ in other locations.
FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
