We are seeking a motivated Scientist to join our Human Antibody Isolation Team, which contributed to the development of Regeneron's SARS-CoV-2 antibody cocktail (REGEN-COV). You will play an integral part in the identification of antibodies to treat diseases with unmet medical needs. The primary functions of this position include the isolation of monoclonal antibodies from human donors against diverse disease targets (e.g., infections, allergy and immune disorders) and the development of new antibody isolation technologies and cloning techniques. Some experiments will require harvesting of lymphoid tissues from mice. We are looking for a team player who is experienced with cell culture and flow cytometry, eager to learn, and will utilize cutting-edge techniques for the development of the next generation of therapeutic antibodies.
A Typical Day May Include: Isolating PBMCs from human peripheral bloodPerforming cell enrichment, cell culture, cell differentiation, antibody staining, and phenotypic characterizationIndependently designing, conducting, and analyzing multicolor flow-cytometry experimentsHarvesting mouse spleen, lymph nodes, and bone marrowOptimizing and carrying out functional assays such as ELISA and LuminexPerforming molecular biology experiments, including DNA/RNA purification, RT-PCR, molecular cloning, and western blotAnalyzing and presenting data in a team-based settingMaintaining complete, accurate, and timely records of experiments and data analysisContributing to lab equipment maintenance and ordering supplies/reagents to help create a safe, effective, and efficient working environmentThis Job May Be For You If: You are able to work independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently without direct supervision. You can work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You have a strong desire to develop your skills and work with a cross-functional team.To be considered for this position, you should have a PhD with 0-3 years of postdoctoral experience, or a BS/MS with 4-8 years of experience in Immunology, Cell Biology, and/or Molecular Biology. Hands-on technical experience in cell culture, PBMC isolation, flow cytometry, or antibody staining is necessary. Experience with functional assays such as ELISA and ELISPOT, as well as molecular biology techniques like PCR and cloning, is a plus. You should be comfortable handling mice. The level of the position will be commensurate with your experience.
